  We spent over a half million dollars to have Scott Felder build our retirement home in Harrison Hills only to find out that Scott Felder Homes had been acquired by BR Homebuilders of Plano, Tx. between the time we signed the contract and the day we moved in. It quickly became obvious that BR had a completely different idea of what goes into the construction of a quality home. One glaring example of this is the lack of any form of reinforcing steel in our 500+ foot long driveway. Yes I said 500+ feet. The home is built on a flag lot squeezed into the corner of the development. Not only was no rebar used in the driveway, no wire grid was used either. Neither was any ground preparation done, so two years after it was poured, our driveway is crumbling to pieces. Only one Felder home in the subdivision was built with a reinforced concrete driveway. That home was built for a Felder sales executive.
  
  We can't enjoy our yard because the lot was platted during the drought. Now that the drought is a memory, we find ourselves living in a stinking fetid swamp. Our foundation straddles an artesian spring and the water is rapidly destroying it. By not bothering to run a geological study before they built on the lot, Felder saved a couple hundred dollars. Scott Felder's attitude throughout this nightmare has been to evade and make excuses. Do not rely on Felder's past record of customer satisfaction when shopping for a home. This company is Scott Felder in name only. They are counting on the good reputation of their predecessor to help them sell substandard product. Buyer beware!
